Subject: Meade DSI with Mac Software Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2005 23:50:13 From: Joerg Mueller I live in Germany, use an ETX 125, one LX 200 GPS and a Meade LPI. On your ETX sites I found software for an Apple PowerBook, Mac OS X. The driver for the LPI camera works fine. I know that you have a Meade LPI and not a DSI. But do you know now if there is a Mac Software for the DSI. Thank you for ansering Best wishes, clear sky Joerg Mike here: I haven't heard of one yet but I seem to recall someone was working on an open source driver for Mac OS X.
Latest version
When I say in the e-mail that macam knows the name of the camera, I mean that in the main window of the application, at the bottom it says "status: connected to vimicro generic vc0305." I just wanted to add that to make my e-mail clearer. Thanks again, Phil Begin forwarded message: > From: Philip Beasley-Murray > Date: July 6, 2006 4:04:55 PM CST > To: webcam-osx-devs@... > Subject: unsupported camera (vimicro/chinese web cam) > > Hello, > > I am currently studying in China and want to be in touch with > friends and family over the webcam that I bought here, but alas it > is unsupported by your program. > > The camera, according to the system profiler, is this: > > PC Camera: > > Version: 1.00 > Bus Power (mA): 500 > Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec > Manufacturer: Vimicro Corp. > Product ID: 0x305b > Vendor ID: 0x0ac8 > > > > I am using the lastest release of macam (0.8.7) and the latest of > mac os x: os x.4.7 Macam knows the name of the camera and thinks it > is working with the camera. I've been fiddling with Nebulosity abit, to try and get it to stack the RAW images from my Nikon D750 as colour. I found a conversion matrix that was supposed to be decent, but as it turns out that made all images far too blue.
